Biennale of Sydney

Join a collection of artists exhibiting works in the 24th Biennale of Sydney who through the creation of avatars, conjure gods, spirits and deities across cultures. In various contexts and mediums each evoke the divine in physical form, with great aesthetic and cultural power; allowing for explorations of the personal and political. Together they discuss their relationships to the figures they represent, the ways in which they challenge Western binary thinking regarding the mutual exclusivity of divinity and queerness, and the enduring value of faith and spirituality.
