23rd Biennale of Sydney (2022) participant Hera Büyüktaşcıyan is a storyteller!
She delves into unseen and forgotten histories and reimagines them through site-specific and sculptural artworks. She plays with line, shape and pattern as geometric tools for mapping timelines and revealing narratives of the past.
1.Reflect upon an unseen or forgotten story that you knowabout and that you would like to share with others.
2.Once you have your story, construct a monument usingfound materials in your home to honour your unseen orforgotten story!
3.In the spirit of Büyüktaşcıyan, try and use materials thatare all the same shape. You may choose to use different sizesand scales, but ensure the shape remains the same. For example, consider using canned foods or books.
4. Document your Future Monument to Untold Stories and share on Instagram using the Biennale of Sydney’s learning hashtag #BiennaleSydneyLearning @biennalesydney.
