Wasielah Noorsjamsi
Wasielah Noorsjamsi is an emerging artist of Indonesian heritage, based on Dharug Country in Western Sydney. Her multidisciplinary practice spans photography, sculpture, and textiles, reflecting her love for making and engaging with ideas of care, community, and cultural inheritance.
Co-founder of An Other Collective, Wasielah works across both independent and collaborative projects that centre lived experience, spiritual reflection, and diasporic identity. Her work has been shown in exhibitions celebrating contemporary Muslim voices and artistic practices grounded in faith and everyday life. Through her practice, she reflects on connections between home, family life, and cultural belonging.
Wasielah has undertaken several professional development programs, including a mentorship with Khaled Sabsabi through Diversity Arts Australia, the CACD Development Program led by Alissar Chidiac and Paula Abood through ACE, Next Wave’s Kickstart program (2025), and the PAS Cohort 2025 – 2026 Studio Residency.
