Living Seawalls is revolutionising the way we build in our oceans and is the result of more than 20 years of scientific research into the unique ecology of natural shorelines and artificial structures. Through innovative design that combines ecological and engineering expertise with visual aesthetics, we have developed an adaptable and affordable mechanism of bringing marine life back to coastal developments in the most urbanised places in the world.

Living Seawalls is a flagship programme of the Sydney Institute of Marine Science and is a collaboration between marine ecologists from UNSW and Macquarie University, and industrial designer Alex Goad of Reef Design Lab.
