Kiri Dalena is a filmmaker and visual artist whose artistic work is closely connected to her more than twenty years of human rights activism in the Philippines. She also collaborates collectively as a founding member of the film collective Southern Tagalog Exposure (2001-2008) and RESBAK (Respond and Break the Silence Against the Killings) (2016- Present). Kiri’s practice is grounded in the belief that art is a vocation that fulfills an indispensable role in inspiring meaningful change by facilitating connections and triggering shifts in how we read and appreciate history, the environment, and society. She has worked with a range of media, including sculpture, sound, books, photography, moving images, and language-based works.
