Born & Lives in:
India

CAMP is a collaborative studio based in Mumbai, India, founded in 2007. The group creates fundamental new work across film, video, digital media, and public art, in a practice characterised by a non-alienated relation to technology. CAMP’s complex projects have engaged with many contemporary social and technical networks, such as energy, communication, transport and surveillance systems; as well as ports, ships and archives. In doing so, they challenge preconceptions of these networks having a fixed-function or destiny, harnessing them as both a medium and stage for artistic activity. CAMP has exhibited worldwide in biennales, museums, streets, markets and cinema halls. From their home-base in Mumbai, CAMP co-hosts two online archives: pad.ma, a video archive launched in 2008, and indiancine.ma, a film archive started in 2013 and run a rooftop cinema in Mumbai for the past 17 years.
