Join a collection of artist exhibiting works in the 24th Biennale of Sydney whose works and practices each speak to sonic cartography, the flow and dispersal of music across time, borders and cultures. Together they will discuss the relationship between music, migration, exchange and displacement; the routes various peoples’ music have travelled; and the cultural and subcultural power of making music together. The panel also interrogates the Western perception of music as an elite artform, and instead looks to sonic cultures for their relationship to music as a means of meaning making and community building.
