Proudly identifying as Filipino and Murrawarri, DOBBY’s roots run deep in the Aboriginal lands of Brewarrina and Weilmoringle in New South Wales. His debut album, WARRANGU; River Story, won the ARIA for Best World Album and was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize. The album’s second single, “Ancestor,” was the #1 most played song on FBi Radio in 2024, while the full album was Album of the Week on FBi Radio, Double J, and 2SER. DOBBY was also nominated for Double J’s Australian Artist of the Year and received the Hage Award from Sweatshop Literacy Movement in 2024.
