Biennale of Sydney

Support the Power of Art

We invite you to join us in celebrating the transformative power of art and ensuring the Biennale of Sydney remains free for everyone to enjoy. The Biennale is more than just an exhibition; it is an immersive, vibrant art extravaganza dedicated to building community and connection, and enriching lives through creativity.

At the heart of the Biennale of Sydney is our purpose to present dynamic contemporary art from around the world and across Australia, bringing people together to reflect on and discuss the world we live in. For 50 years, this pursuit has infused art into the very fabric of Sydney and rejuvenated public spaces across the city. By bringing art to often overlooked places, we not only revitalise them but also foster a sense of community and belonging, breathing new life into our city.

Since 1973, the Biennale has presented over 2,000 artists and their work, commissioning more new works than any other museum or gallery in Australia. The Biennale showcases large-scale, show-stopping installations including Lisa Reihana’s Te Wai Ngunguru – Nomads of the Sea (2019), Ai Weiwei’s Law of the Journey (2017), and Brook Andrew’s Jumping Castle War Memorial (2010). Additionally, it features crowd favourites such Kaylene Whiskey’s Kaylene TV (2024) and Fiona Hall’s World Wind Systems (1981), as well as household names like Venice Biennale Golden Lion-winning artist Archie Moore’s A Home Away From Home (Bennelong/Vera’s Hut), (2016).

The transformative power of art cannot be understated. Art has the ability to inspire, challenge, and connect us. It fosters dialogue, promotes understanding, and brings communities together, whether from across the world or across the street. At the Biennale, we are committed to providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the profound impact of art, regardless of their financial situation. That is why entry to the exhibition is free, supported by free and low-cost tickets to our events and programs. By doing so, we ensure that art remains accessible to all who seek its inspiration and joy.

Your support is crucial in helping us continue this mission. By making a donation, you help keep the Biennale of Sydney free and accessible, allowing us to reach more people and change more lives through the power of art. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant impact.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Biennale of Sydney today. Your generosity will ensure that we can continue to bring the magic of art to everyone, free of charge. Together, we can continue to provide transformative experiences that inspire and unite us all.

Thank you for your continued support.

Remember, every donation is tax-deductible and makes a real difference. Let’s keep the arts thriving and accessible for all!
