The Parramatta Female Factory Precinct and PYT Fairfield are unique Australian organisations who unify people through action, commemoration and place. In partnership, they will lead the development and implementation of an internationally significant model of practice predicated on ethics, care and agency. This practice recognises, understands and transcends complex histories of institutionalisation in Australia, and places the experiences and perspectives of Stolen Generations, Forgotten Australians, and refugees at the heart of Australia’s contemporary cultural landscape.

The Parramatta Female Factory Precinct, who are establishing the National Women’s Arts and Cultural Centre, and PYT Fairfield are forging a pioneering new partnership to explore the Australian experience of institutions for women and young people. This partnership breaks new ground, revolutionising national practice and perspectives that seek to ensure the history of people who have been marginalised, confined and oppressed within institutions is not forgotten.
