Jacob Boehme is a critically acclaimed theatre maker and choreographer, from the Narangga and Kaurna Nations, creating work for stage, screen, large-scale public events and festivals.
Alumnus of NASIDA College of Dance and the Victorian College of the Arts, (MA in Arts – Playwriting, MA in Arts – Puppetry) Jacob was the founding Creative Director of Yirramboi Festival and
has led the artistic direction for opening ceremonies of major festivals and events: Tanderrum (Melbourne Festival), Thuwathu (Cairns Indigenous Arts Fair), Opening Welcome Ceremony (Cricket World Cup, Dreamtime at the G, FINA World Swimming Championships, Dreaming Festival). Most recently Jacob was the inaugural Director First Nations for Carriageworks in Sydney.
Jacob is the writer and performer of the critically acclaimed work Blood on the Dance Floor, recipient of the 2017 Green Room Award Best Independent Production and is currently the Artistic Director of Guuranda, an ambitious new work about Narungga Creation stories of the Yorke Peninsula, premiering at Adelaide Festival, March 2024.
