Basjia Almaan is a black Queer model, creative director, dancer, movement director and performer who is also apart of the Ballroom community in Gadigal Land as a House of Silky child, sex siren, body and face Grand prize winner. She creates art to empower and celebrate the black femme body and to show how powerful and sacred all bodies are. This is also evident through her activism and work within the Australian fashion industry and she has constantly advocated for the inclusion of all people participating and existing within fashion and media. She has worked as a movement director, creative director, casting director and model, working towards changing the narrative and landscape of the Australian fashion industry.
