Kumari Abeydeera
Kumari Abeydeera is a community arts worker, artist, activist, psychotherapist and PhD researcher passionate about centring marginalised voices and decolonising m/other knowledges across her practice. Kumari has been producing and facilitating arts based gatherings which foreground collective care and the re-membering of embodied and ancestral knowledges for over two decades across health, arts, academic and grassroots community spaces. Kumari lives, makes and organises on unceded Dharug and Gundungurra land whilst working as a Senior Community Arts Creative Producer at Curious Works in Western Sydney, whilst engaged in PhD research around marginalised artist mothers making art as activism, at the University of Newcastle.
