Ran Fields

Ran Fields
Ran Fields is an internationally published, genre-defying artist whose work exists at the intersection of sound, visual art, and storytelling. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Ran draws inspiration from Frederick Douglass, Andre Benjamin, Cee-lo Green, Childish Gambino, and jazz-fusion legend Al Di Meola. Under the moniker Global Rations, they craft music that fuses drill, jazz, and hip-hop into sounds that are as hypnotic as they are socially conscious.
As a creative director, musician, and photographer, Ran has built a reputation for pushing boundaries both sonically and culturally. Their work explores identity, race, and lived experience, with the latest single Inner West Goofies blending smooth, drive-ready production with lyricism that challenges systemic oppression and performative activism.
Having lived in Japan for five years and now based in Sydney’s Inner West, Ran brings international perspectives to each project, amplifying queer and POC voices through deeply personal yet universally resonant work.
