For Kulpreet Singh, art-making is a way of articulating his relationship to land and his concerns about its ongoing depletion. Inspired by the ecological and cultural histories of Punjab, alongside global traditions of land and environmental art, his multifaceted practice centres the farmers and farmlands of India in the aftermath of the Green Revolution. Working across drawing, painting, sculpture, performance, and film, Singh sees his practice as both social commentary and aesthetic exploration at scale. Within his work, agricultural landscapes become microcosms that reveal the magnitude of the human impact on land.
