School Programs

Education programs at the 24th Biennale of Sydney, Ten Thousand Suns, engage with current thinking in contemporary art practice to promote and stimulate a deeper understanding of biennials and the work of artists.

Our exhibition programs for Primary and Secondary students cater for all ages and abilities. The program contains a range of opportunities for students and teachers including Self-Guided Experiences, Educator Led Experiences, and Schools Workshops: 

 School Tours at White Bay Power Station

Educator Led Experience

Educator led experiences at the 24th Biennale of General and Senior Student Case Study tours are available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12 March; excluding school holidays.
Time: 11.15 am, 12.15 pm or 1.45 pm.

Maximum capacity of 30 students per tour.

General

Join us for a specialised exhibition experience at White Bay Power Station guided by our knowledgeable educators every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (excluding school holidays). 

Senior Student Case Study

Senior Student Case Study Tours at White Bay Power Station are specially designed for Stage 5 and 6 Visual Arts students, allowing teachers to nominate four works from a list of ten provided as pre-visit tour resources.

Self-Guided Experience

Choose your own adventure at White Bay Power Station. Teachers can book in for a free self-guided art encounter navigating their classes with resources supplied by the Biennale of Sydney.

Available Tuesday to Sundays. Maximum capacity of 40 students (1 teacher per 10 students). Registration required.

Available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12 March; excluding school holidays.
Time: 12.15 pm
Duration: 45 minutes

Option 1: Worldbuilding and Character Design inspired by the works of Serwah Attafuah

Option 2: Kite Making inspired by the works of Orquideas Barrileteras
