Superposition Studio panel discussion
Saturday, 19 May, 3–5 pm
At: Superposition Studio, Cockatoo Island
Join us for a Superposition Studio panel discussion with artists and designers working across architecture, installation and speculative projects.
Join us for a Superposition Studio panel discussion with special guests, including designer Linda Kennedy (Future Black), artist, poet, and activist Lorna Munro, artist and activist Keg de Souza, and Future Method (Genevieve Murray and Joel Spring), designers working across architecture, installation and speculative projects.
The panel will interrogate the instruments of displacement and the implications of radical and unprecedented development on communities such as Redfern, the crucible of Indigenous self-determination.
Superposition Studio, designed by Future Method, is a set of artefacts of sorts: a ‘terrazzo’ table top made from Redfern demolition rubble, used scaffolding mesh, and graffitied construction hoarding from their neighbourhood. According to the Future Method, 'the materials in Superposition Studio are a collection of patterns, words, materials and textures that make up the temporal city. This version of the city is the one left behind by development and renewal – the debris of displacement'.
This event will be taking place on unceded Gadigal land, part of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and future.
