Alex Cerveny

Born 1963 in São Paulo, Brazil
Lives and works in São Paulo and Santo Antônio do Pinhal, Brazil

The work of Alex Cerveny is based on two complementary movements: it navigates in the fracture counter current of the subject-object and pioneers free imaginary territories, enhanced by the American and atavistic heritage of a robust fantasy. His meticulous compositions encompass biblical, mythological, autobiographical and pop culture references usually followed by texts, which often take the form of his personal glossaries.
